FAQ
FAQ
Teachers who are passionate about teaching, have their own vision, choose not to rely on platforms or tutoring centers, and are willing to handle independent student recruitment.
If you have your own channels (social media, website, referrals) and occasionally encounter students who aren't the right fit, this platform is designed for you.
Going independent doesn't mean going alone. You can collaborate with other teachers to build a stronger, more stable career together—but it starts with taking that first step.
The referral fee is paid after both parties confirm the collaboration is successful. Here's the process:
- Both parties confirm completion - Either the referrer or receiver initiates a "completion request"
- Other party confirms - The other party confirms the collaboration is indeed complete
- Offline referral fee transaction - Referrer and receiver settle the referral fee directly (platform is not involved)
- Pay platform service fee - Referrer pays the platform service fee within 7 days
Important Notes:
- Trial lessons don't count as a deal - If the student doesn't continue after a trial lesson, it's not considered a successful collaboration, and no fees are required
- Only actual deals require payment - You only pay the referral fee when the student commits to continuing lessons and both parties confirm the collaboration is complete
- Referral fee is one-time only - The referral fee is a single payment, not an ongoing commission. After that, 100% of all future lesson fees belong to you
Referral Fee Negotiation
Referral fees are completely negotiated between both parties - the platform does not set any range. You can freely set prices based on:
- Student quality and requirements
- Difficulty and value of the referral
- Relationship with your partner
- Your time cost
Platform Service Fee
After a successful teacher collaboration, the referrer (referring teacher) pays a platform service fee.
Fee Rate:
- Standard rate: 10% of the agreed referral fee
- Minimum threshold: NT$100
- Maximum cap: NT$500
Examples:
- Agreed referral fee NT$2,000 → Platform service fee NT$200
- Agreed referral fee NT$800 → Platform service fee NT$100 (minimum threshold)
- Agreed referral fee NT$8,000 → Platform service fee NT$500 (maximum cap)
Important Notes:
- Referral fees are transacted offline directly between the referrer and receiver—platform is not involved
- Platform only collects the service fee, not the referral fee itself
- After collaboration completion, the referrer must pay the platform service fee within 7 days
Referral Opportunity Sources
Referral opportunities come from other teachers' real traffic. Teachers often cannot accept students due to:
- Schedule conflicts - Student's desired time slot is unavailable
- Price considerations - Student has limited budget, but teacher charges higher rates
- Full schedule - Already fully booked, cannot accept new students
These students need referrals to more suitable teachers. When your timing, pricing, and course capacity match these students' needs, you receive referrals.
Referral Market Process
Referrer (Has students to refer):
- Has traffic that doesn't convert
- Can refer to other teachers
- Earns referral fee income
Receiver (Wants students):
- Lacks student sources
- Willing to pay referral fees
- Receives referrals from other teachers
How it Works:
- Referrer posts a referral case in the market
- Receiver responds and sends a collaboration request
- Both parties negotiate the referral fee and establish collaboration
- After successful collaboration, settle the referral fee offline
- Referrer pays the platform service fee
Not every student is the right fit for you, and that's perfectly normal. When a student's needs don't match your expertise, schedule, or teaching style, you have two options: politely decline and end the conversation, or refer them to a more suitable teacher.
By choosing to refer, you gain:
• Referral fee income — The referred teacher pays you a referral fee as thanks
• Professional network — Every referral builds a long-term collaborative relationship
• Savings effect — Posting cases is like making deposits. The more you help other teachers find students, the more you'll be prioritized for referrals when you need students in the future
Your network, your income. TutorNetworking enables teachers to refer each other, making everyone's teaching career more sustainable.
We're a cooperation model, not a competition model. When you refer students to other teachers, you earn referral fees; when other teachers refer students to you, you gain quality students. This is a reciprocal network, not zero-sum competition.
How the Collaboration Network works:
- Math teachers can recommend excellent English teachers
- Language teachers can recommend excellent science teachers
- Recommendations boost your platform ranking and visibility
- Forms a mutually beneficial teacher community
Every teacher has their own specialties and schedules—referrals help each student find the best-fit teacher while letting every teacher benefit from each other's traffic. Good recommendations are more trustworthy than algorithms, reducing platform marketing costs and letting teachers keep more income.
Absolutely not!
You have complete freedom to decide:
- Teaching content and methods: Completely designed by you based on student needs
- Materials used: Platform does not provide materials, you prepare the most suitable ones
- Pricing and payment methods: You decide lesson fees, platform takes no commission from teaching income
Why don't we take commission from teaching income?
We believe teachers should keep 100% of their teaching income. The platform sustains itself through platform service fees collected when collaborations succeed, allowing teachers to focus on teaching without worrying about commission deductions.
Our Role:
- Provide technical platform and referral network
- Help you build your personal brand
- Connect students who need your expertise
- But do not interfere with your teaching professionalism
Your success is the platform's success—we are partners.
Of course you can run your own business! TutorNetworking isn't here to replace how you operate—it's here to give you an additional income stream.
Your network, your income
When running your own business, you focus on attracting students and building your brand—that's great. But you'll always encounter students who aren't the right fit: schedule conflicts, level mismatch, wrong subject. Before, you could only decline these inquiries and move on.
With TutorNetworking, you can refer these students to more suitable teachers and earn referral fees. At the same time, you'll receive referrals from other teachers too. This isn't giving up your independence—it's upgrading from "solo teacher" to "teacher with a referral network."
A partnership that doesn't tie you down
Traditional platforms fear teachers taking students private, so they impose restrictions. We're the opposite: you can put your website and social links on your profile, run your business however you like. We provide ecosystem support, not control.
Teachers coordinate payment methods directly with students.
TutorNetworking provides:
- Personal page display (tutornetworking.com/your-name)
- Students can contact teachers through the platform
Payment between teachers and students:
- Use your preferred payment method (bank transfer, e-payment, etc.)
- Platform doesn't intervene in teacher payment collection
- Teachers keep 100% of lesson fees, no commissions
You do, completely!
Our philosophy: Platforms should help teachers build brands, not create dependency.
You own:
- Personal page URL (tutornetworking.com/your-name)
- Student contact information and booking records
- Your teaching content and materials
- Reviews and recommendation records
Platform's role:
- Provide personal page display space
- Build an ecosystem for passionate teachers
- Boost exposure through collaboration network
- But doesn't "own" your students or brand
Why is this important?
- You're building your own teaching business, not working for the platform
- No worries about platform policy changes affecting your livelihood
- Long-term, your brand value continuously accumulates
- Register with your Google account, select "Teacher" role
- Complete your profile (teaching experience, specialties, teaching philosophy)
- Set your availability and course offerings on the platform
- Start accepting student bookings
Important Notes:
- Role selected during registration (Teacher/Student) cannot be changed
- Use different email addresses to register for different roles
The platform does not provide teaching materials. Teachers need to prepare their own materials. This gives teachers complete freedom to choose the most suitable teaching content and methods for their students.
